TOMATO SAUCE


Ingredients:

  • Fresh Tomatoes - 500 gm (chopped)
  • Olive oil or Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 5 to 6 flakes (crushed)
  • Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Method:

In a sauce pan heat olive oil or Butter add onion and garlic cook until tender about 3 minutes. 

Add chopped tomatoes, 1tsp of sugar and reduce the heat. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes and the mixture looks thick. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Pour the tomatoes into blender and puree. Pass trough a sieve back into the same sauce pan and season with salt and pepper. Gently reheat just before serving.
